The Whelen 2800 SERIES provides ranges of up to 1 mile radius at the 70 dB perimeter calculated in accordance with FEMA's publication CPG 1-17.
The 2800 SERIES is a true omni-directional siren providing instant alerting of the public in all directions simultaneusly. There are ten different models to choose from. Models range from a one cell to ten cells. Using CPG-1-17, for range calculation, the one cell provides a 1600 foot radius while the 10 cell provides a 5,200 foot radius. With ten different models to choose from, the system can be designed to fit your application.
The 2800 SERIES provides SIX standard tones found in all Whelen electronic sirens. These are ; ALERT, ATTACK, WHOOP, AIR HORN, HI-LOW and NOON TEST. In addition the 2800 series has both digital and live voice broadcast capabilities, Silent Test and self diagnostics capabilities.
With the 2800 SERIES you can have true Silent Test/diagnostics and have the system report back its operating condition. The units can be individually polled at any time requesting a status report. All units polled will perform a full diagnostics test and report back the operational status giving you a printout or computer log of the results. Performing this operation insures that the system is operating at it's peak performance level at all times.
The 2800 SERIES has 1 to 10 speaker cells located within the sound producing head. It is typically mounted on top of a wood or concrete pole. Each cell of the sound producing head has one speaker which is supplied with 400 watts of audio power. Each cell in the head and the speakers employed are specifically designed for maximum efficiency at the frequencies used in this application.
When lives are dependent on the capability to alert the public, and time is extremely critical, the 2800 SERIES provides the best method of notifying the largest number of people.
